We welcome referrals from GPs and psychiatrists for people in midlife and beyond, and their families, seeking accessible, evidence-based psychological support via Telehealth Australia-wide.

Useful Information About Better Access (Medicare)
Eligibility for Medicare Rebates
Patients require either:
- A Mental Health Treatment Plan (GP), or
- A Referral letter (psychiatrist or paediatrician)Patients must:
Have a diagnosed mental disorder, such as:
- Adjustment Disorder
- Depression
- Bipolar Disorder
- Anxiety conditions (including Panic Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, and phobias); AND
- Be likely to benefit from structured psychological support.Review and Session Limits
A review is required after 6 sessions. A new referral is required to access up to 10 rebated sessions per calendar year. -

Important Notes
Upside Stories is not a bulk-billing practice.
We are unable to accept referrals through other funding schemes, such as NDIS, Workcover, or similar programs.
We do not provide independent assessments for NDIS or Disability Support Pension (DSP) applications, or for any psycho-legal or medico-legal purposes.
